Hispaw is an amazing little town in the mountains of the Shan State. It was raining a lot when I was there but it made the place even more charming. The first day I went around town on a bicycle. Temples, countryside and waterfall, it was wonderful!

Hsipaw est une charmante petite ville dans les montagnes dans l'état Shan. Il pleuvait beaucoup quand j'étais là bas mais cela rendait l'endroit encore plus mignon. Le premier jour je me suis baladée en vélo dans les alentours. Temples, campagne et cascade, tout était fabuleux!

After getting a little bit wet riding back into town, I deserved a little (not so little) beer near the river!

Après avoir pris l'eau un petit peu au retour en ville, je méritais une petite (pas si petite) bière près de la rivière!

The next day, I joined a tour with a guide for a two days trek in the mountains around to reach some remote village. We saw some really poor people around, but it was also very interesting to learn about the country, the nature, the local tribes speaking different languages, the problems between the Burmese army and the Shan army etc...

Le lendemain, j'ai rejoint un groupe avec guide pour un trek de deux jours dans les montagnes des alentours pour atteindre un village un peu reculé. Nous avons vu des gens vraiment pauvres, mais c'était tout de même très intéressant d'en apprendre plus sur le pays, la nature, les tribues locales parlant un langage différent, les problèmes entre l'armée Birmane et l'armée Shan etc....

The amazing food our host cooked for us! It was just soooo good, lots of vegetables like bamboo and tamarind leaves! All local food!

We went visit the chief of the village and had some tea with him and his wife...they're so old they don't know their age.

Nous sommes allés rendre visite au chef du village et avons bu du thé avec lui et sa femme....ils sont si vieux qu'ils ne savent plus leur âge.

The hike back to Hsipaw was entirely in the rain and the mud, the STICKY clay, it was not a pleasure!!

La randonnée reour vers Hsipaw se passa entièrement sous la pluie et dans la boue, dans la boue COLLANTE, c'était pas une partie de plaisir!!

We even had to cross a river walking on a stick!
